Blemishes concentrated in the epidermis respond well to PICOALEX and BRIGHTONE. Melasma spread deep in the dermis needs a different approach — repeatedly suppressing melanin production with Nobleen laser toning. We diagnose the depth and type of the pigment first, then design the treatment.
It varies with the depth and extent of the scarring, but with Potenza (RF microneedling) or a CO2 laser we recommend 3–5 sessions. Spacing them 4–6 weeks apart, in step with the 28-day skin cell turnover cycle, works best.
After a laser treatment the skin is temporarily more sensitive to ultraviolet light. UV can stimulate the pigment cells and trigger pigmentation, so to keep the results you must use sunscreen of SPF50 or higher.
